Making Squid Game real
The Players were invited by Superfly to help translate the #1 show in Netflix history to a permanent, playable experience—one of the first in Netflix's foray into ticketed themed attractions.
What emerged was a twisted playground of peril—but also a new chapter in the canon, subverting all expectations and packing a narrative punch that left heads spinning and fans grinning.
Worlds Within Worlds
The entire experience clocked in at 60,000 sq ft, including thousands of square feet of open retail, food & beverage, social shares, and street theater. But the crown jewel was an hour-long twist on the original Squid Games, beginning with a street abduction, the classic face scan, briefing in the bunk room, and six fully interactive group and individual competitions that stretched the limits of crowd throughput, spatial tracking, automatic player ranking, film-level set recreations and narrative arc.
One winner emerged from each group of fifty players—their name forever immortalized and as a bonus—entered into an actual drawing to appear on the Squid Game reality show on Netflix as a contestant.
The Trials is set to run in a years-long tour across the US and beyond. Portions of the experience are being permanently installed in Netflix House, Philadelphia.
