Winning over Santa for a Christmas World Cup
Creative legend Gary Van Dzura had recently taken the reins over at Fox Sports and was tasked with messaging a yuletide shift in the schedule of the biggest sporting event on the planet. Everyone was stoked—except the Big Guy Up North.
The Players got the call to convert our dearly beloved Santa from skeptic to #Believer. The resulting campaign featured Jon Hamm and Ellie Kemper as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and helped push viewership of the World Cup final up more than 30% from 2018.
This campaign won an Emmy. Fox averaged 3.5 million viewers across 64 matches, a 30% increase over the 2018 tournament.
